In May 2020, Tim Kuhl joined Mine Technical Services Ltd. as a Partner and Principal Geologist. Tim has over 35 years of experience in the mining industry including mine operations positions in multiple commodities and 15 years of consulting experience. Tim joins our already strong resource estimation team with strong experience in gold, copper, platinum, and other metal deposits.
Mr. Kuhl’s specialties include resource and reserve estimation, grade control, mine reconciliation, and drill program design and execution. Tim’s experience includes geology and engineering roles at the Lone Tree gold mine in Nevada, the Hibbing Taconite iron mine in Minnesota, and the Centralia coal mine in Washington.
As a consultant, Tim has worked on many projects around the world. Some of the most notable projects include estimating resources for the Platreef platinum project in South Africa for Ivanhoe, estimating resources for the Twin Metals Cu-Ni project in Minnesota for Twin Metals, and grade control and reconciliation studies at the Tenke Fungurume copper mine in Congo for Freeport McMorRan.
Tim Kuhl is a Registered Professional Geologist in the state of Washington, a Registered Member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration, and is based in Olympia Washington area.
