
Associate Metallurgist / Process Engineer
Raul Herrera has 30 years of experience in the mining and chemical industries. He has worked in process study and operations roles at large copper and gold projects in Mexico, Arizona, and Peru. Raul has been responsible for study and project management, mine start-up and operations, engineering and planning, production and cost budgeting, strategic planning, and personnel training and development. His experience includes feasibility and trade-off studies, Capex / Opex estimation, process design, simulation and modelling for crushing, mineral processing and SX/EW plants. Raul's cost efficient and innovative operational management skills have proven successful on both small and large-scale mines.
Before joining MTS, Raul worked for Grupo Mexico at Cananea in Sonora, Mexico for 23 years and was General Operations Manager for Timmons Gold at San Francisco, also in Sonora, Mexico. He received a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Chihuahua Technical Institute in 1987 and a M.Sc. in Mining Business Administration from the University of Sonora in 2001.
Raul is based in Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico
