
Associate Mining Engineer, PE, RM-SME
John Barber is a mining engineer with over 40 years’ experience in mine operations and consulting. His industry experience includes senior-level operations and engineering management positions in North America and Indonesia. His consulting experience includes engineering & planning, due diligence, studies, and engineering management. John has an extensive background in mineral reserve estimation, mine design, production scheduling, equipment selection, cost estimation, and property evaluation. He is qualified to act as a Qualified Person (QP) for Canada NI 43-101 technical reports and as a Competent Person (CP) for AusIMM JORC technical reports.
Before joining MTS, John worked for Freeport in Indonesia for 14 years, AMEC Mining & Metals/Wood for 11 years, and Sunshine Mining, Alta Gold and Day Mines in Nevada for 14 years. He received a B.Sc. degree in Mining Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1979. John holds professional registration in Nevada and Arizona.
